The wine comes from the vineyards of the Monastery which occupy an area of 70 acres. Protected Geographical Area of Mount Athos.
It is prepared with traditional recipes, based on the experience of the old Holy Fathers. Witness to the winemaking tradition are the two stone buildings, where the wines are prepared in the old winemaking barrels and stored in the cellar of the Monastery. The wines are aged in large old wooden barrels. The Monks of the Vatopedi Monastery demonstrate with these wines their deep knowledge in the Art of Winemaking.
Keeping the old facilities but with modern methods, we vinify the grapes from the Organic vineyards of the Monastery.
