This diptych is an exact replica of the icons of Panagia Evangelistria and of the Archangel Gabriel, which are on the sanctuary screen of the main church of Vatopedi Monastery. It is made available with the sanction and the blessing of the Monastery.
The Diptych of the Annunciation of the Theotokos depicts the Archangel Gabriel announcing to the Virgin Mary that she will bear the Son of God. This sacred moment marks the beginning of Christ’s incarnation. The wooden icon, with its golden background, radiates divine light and reverence, inviting prayer and reflection.
