Copy of an icon worked on canvas, by experienced hagiographers, with the unique know-how of premium hand-made serigraphy. It is finalized by conservators and specialized artisans of wood and is wax finished.
The icon is inspired by the image of Christ Pantocrator found in the Vatopedi Monastery and is chronologically dated to the late 13th century. The iconographer emphasizes the teaching aspect of Christ, with the closed Gospel book in the left hand of Jesus. This specific iconographic type is not commonly encountered during the Byzantine period.
