Icon of Jesus Christ which has been crafted using the traditional Byzantine iconography techniques, with indelible colours on canvas.
The image of Christ Pantocrator fills all the great monasteries across the spectrum of Orthodoxy. On Mount Athos, the icon of Christ as Pantocrator can be found in almost all the monasteries, representing different iconographic schools since the early 13th century. The icon of Christ Pantocrator located at the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi was painted in the 14th century and belongs to a group of rare Byzantine icons. One of its distinctive features is the intense gaze, which, while outwardly focused, gives the impression that it turns inward to the inner world and thoughts.
